Work for Workthing - Concepts
This section is decicated to the work that I have completed while at Workthing, but for one reason or another hasn't got as far as making it into the public domain.
Bank of Tokyo
It isn't uncommon for a sales person to ask for some conceptual design work to be carried out for a potential corporpate careers site client prior to a meeting, or a deal being completed. Depending on what the sales person has led the client to expect, or how far along discussions are usually determines how detailed the concept that is produced needs to be.
With the Bank of Tokyo the requirements for the concept were fairly simple, to produce a couple of flat graphics with design based loosely on that of their current corporate website to allow them to visualise how their corporate career site could look.
Diagio - Workthing Intranet
On the intranet at Workthing is a graphical archive of all of the work that the Production department has produced over the years. When the Operations Manager was compiling all of this into the one location, he asked if I could take the graphics that had already been produced by one of the other designers for earlier Diagio concepts, and create an example newsletter and banner from them for use on the Intranet.
Tussauds Graduate landing page
When the Tussauds group decided to look into the possibility of launching a recruitment micro site exclusively for their Graduate program, myself and another of the designers in the department were asked to create some concepts for a landing page for the site.
We knew nothing about the exact content that was to appear on the page as this was as yet undecided, the only information we had was that it was to be a single page that linked to two vacancies on the Tussauds site.
The entire Tussauds network of sites was available to us to source imagery and inspiration from, the three concepts that I produced for the project can be seen on the right, click on the thumbnail to view the full image.
Workthing Screensaver
A little before the summer of 2004 the Business Development team managed to strike a deal with an advertising company that controlled the screensavers of library computers at universities across the UK. For 5 seconds at a time, a full screen (1024 x 768) static advertisement would be shown on the screen of idle computers.
Between the Business Development team and the Marketing team the text and look and feel for the advert had been decided. My task was to put everything together as well as adding the logos of a selection of companies that were currently advertising on the site from a list of chosen sectors.
